Why a "de-tan" facial can't remove a tan
A tan is your skin's natural response to UV. Your skin makes more melanin to protect itself. It is not dirt sitting on the surface that a de-tan treatment can simply "remove".
How skin renews itself
Healthy skin renews itself all the time. New cells form in the deeper layer of the epidermis and slowly move up to the surface, where they are shed. On average this takes about 28 days. In younger skin it is closer to 21–28 days, and in mature skin 40–58 days or more.
What actually helps
- Good nutrition, hydration and healthy digestion give your skin what it needs to make new cells
- Regular oil massage supports the skin barrier and keeps the skin moisturised and supple
- Protection from more UV, so the skin isn't pushed to tan again
So rather than promising to "remove tan", we focus on supporting natural renewal, nourishment and protection. Healthy skin begins from within, with good food, digestion, circulation and consistent care.
